19.02.12 Carterton FC 1 v Westwood Wanderers 1 A good game against a top team. The first half was dominated by Carterton, unfortunately no one got on the score sheet. H/T 0-0 The second half was backs to the wall for the home side with Westwood coming out the stronger and pressuring the home sides defence. On the break some good link up play with Georgia and Chloe resulted in Georgia getting a goal past the left foot of the keeper. Westwood kept battling and were awarded a penalty when Woody took their striker out with an untimely challenge! Thankfully the penalty went wide In injury time, a mix up resulted in Westwood's striker, Jodie Webb being gifted the ball and an open goal to score. Overall a fair result, Georgina Hewson picking up Player of the Match for some outstanding defending. |

29.01.12 Carterton FC 1 v Hazlemere Sports 2.
A first half which Carterton should of been ahead
with the amount of chances that came their way. For the first 10 minutes
Hazlemere came at us but we weathered the storm and started to penetrate
their defence with the remainder of the half spent in their half.
H/T 0-0
The home side got the first goal when Bryony
charged down a loose ball with the keeper and the ball spilt to Georgia
with an open goal to shoot at and she didn't miss. Hazlemere equalized
with a speculative shot that hit the cross bar and Kirsty before going
over the line. They got their noses in front when their midfield player
was unmarked on the edge of the box and she didn't miss with her strike.
Carterton battled to the end but today wasn't our day. Possibly the
performance of the season so far, bring on Chilterns next week.
Player of the Match today was a tough call with
Bryony and Megan both putting in a great performance, well done ladies.

21.1.12 Oxford United 7 v Carterton FC 0. A nervous start from Carterton and United capitalised with 3 early goals. The away side settled after a slow start and started to have a bit of confidence on the ball. Unfortunately a defensive mistake just on half time meant they conceded their 4th goal. After some good play this was a blow to the effort they put in. H/T 4-0 The second half was a bit of 'backs to the wall' but the team dug in and worked so hard, yes they conceded another three goals but the whole team effort was outstanding. |

08.01.12 Ascot United 2 v Carterton FC 2. First game back after the festive break and we new we were in for a tough game against a very strong Ascot side. Inside three minutes we conceded a sloppy goal, everyone stopped thinking it was handball but the referee missed it and Ascot scored. It wasn't long before Carterton equalised with some good play through the midfield and Bryony was on hand to score. With the slope in our favour we pressed against the Ascot defence and had a number of chances to go ahead. On 34 minutes the chance came when we were awarded a free-kick to the right of the box. Marta took the kick and scored in the top left of the goal. A well deserved lead going in at half time. H/T 1-2 Ascot came at us in the second half and tried to penetrate Carterton's defence but they stood strong. In the last five minutes Ascot got their equaliser when a strike from wide left unfortunately went through Kirsty's hands and legs and trickled over the line. The final whistle blew on an exciting game where on reflection a draw was a fair result. Player of the match was tough today as the defence made a number of great challenges to keep us in the game, so it will have to be a group player of the match, to the defence. |

04.12.11 Marston Saints Angels 0 v Carterton FC 6
League Cup 2nd Round.
The team are going from strength to strength with
another very good team performance. Georgia got her 1st goal of the game
early in the first half with a left foot strike, Charlotte also got a
goal with her left foot on 13 minutes. Georgia got her second mid way
into the half with some strong work from Megan gifting Georgia with an
easy tap in.
H-T 0-3
Ten minutes into the second half and Georgia got
her hat trick with a well struck left foot shot. Cartertons lead
stretched to 5 when a defender tried to clear an attack and the ball
went into the top corner of the goal. Stacey wrapped up the day with an
easy open goal strike which Bernice looked like getting for herself but
Stacey just got there first, unlucky Bernice ;(
Player of the Match was awarded to Bonita who
played so well today at centre half. A well deserved Christmas break
now, well done Ladies.

27.11.11 Carterton FC 5 v Thatcham Town 0. Bonita got on the score sheet inside 5 minutes with a well taken strike from the left, past the keepers left hand. The game was very slow and didn't come alive in the first half with Bonita getting her second with a deflected shot inside half an hour to give ourselves some breathing space. Half Time: - 2-0 The second half was like the first half with most of the play in the away teams half but no composure on the ball. A good spell of 10 minutes saw the home side net 3 goals, Bryony latched onto a keeper error for a tap in and Bernice got her first goal for the team with a well taken strike. Georgia finished off the scoring with a great shot that the keeper had no chance of getting her hand to. Not a great team performance but it was still a win, 5 matches unbeaten and a League Cup game next Sunday away to Marston Saints will test our team. Megan was awarded Player of the Match again today, well done. |

20.11.11 Carterton FC 4 v Chinnor 1 (County Cup) Chinnor took the lead mid way through the first half with some sloppy defending gifting the striker the goal. As the last ten minutes of the half came, Carterton started to play some good football and inside the last minute a great run from Marta down the left wing resulted in a perfect cross which Georgia got in front of her marker to put it past the keeper. H/T 1-1 The second half Carterton were the brighter team, first to everything and not giving the away side any time on the ball. A great ball from left to right saw Stacey cut inside her marker and with a cool shot beat the keeper. Georgia got her second soon after and completed her hat trick with a chip over the keeper. Another good result against a team in the league above, well done all and Marta picked up Player of the Match for the second week. |

13.11.11 Carterton FC 3 v Oxford City 2. A tough match we expected as we hosted the league leaders. We went behind in the second minute when we didn't clear a corner and Ethne Rothery toe poked her shot into the net. On twenty minutes we made the same mistake from a corner and this time Tash Kenny was on hand to score. Carterton had some chances through Georgia, Marta and Megan to get back into the game and also a couple of free kicks from Stacey. Half Time 0-2 Inside the first minute of the second half Georgia had broke free of her defender and one on one with the keeper placed her shot wide. Megan got us back in the game when she netted with a well taken strike. The pressure was applied to the Oxford defence and Bonita won a penalty when she was tripped inside the box. Marta stepped up and scored low to the right of the keeper. With 15 minutes of the game to play, Oxford handled the ball in the goal area and we were awarded another penalty, Marta struck it to the keepers right but this time high into the net. Oxford tried to get back into the game but our defence stood strong. This is Oxford's first defeat of the season so well played Carterton. Two players were awarded player of the game, Marta and Megan, well done to you both. |

06.11.11 Aylesbury United 0 v Carterton FC 1 League Cup 1st Round An excellent encounter as we took the game to Aylesbury from the start. Even though they are in the division above us we played the better football and at half time it was 0-0. The second half was mostly played in the home sides half with Marta finding the back of the net mid way through. A scramble in the Carterton box was cleared by Sophie as the nerves on the touchline were unbearable. We could of got 2 or 3 more goals but for some good goalkeeping and defensive blocks. Through to the next round, we should fear no one on this performance, well done to all the team and especially to Sophie for getting Player of the Match. |

30.10.11 Carterton FC 8 v Didcot Casuals 0
The first half saw Georgia and Stacey get their hat
tricks with Megan getting a goal with a deflection to go in at half time
7-0. The second half with many changes saw Bryony net a goal mid way
through the half and held out not to concede a goal.
Stacey was awarded the player of the match from the
away side. A great team performance, well done.

23.10.11 Stanford Ladies 2 v Carterton FC 0
Two goals in the first half sealed Stanfords win as
an under performing Carterton had more possession but did nothing with
it. One good performance was from new player Bonita Penn in the second
half but today was not our day.

09.10.11 Westwood Wanderers 4 v Carterton FC 1. A tough game against an unbeaten team, also they hadn't conceded a goal in their previous 4 league matches. Carterton held them at bay for 35 minutes until they beat the offside trap with two quick goals. Sophie got us back in the game just before half time when her cross was taken by the wind over the keeper and into the net. Half Time 2-1. Inside a minute of the second half Westwood did the same to us, with a ball sailing over the keeper and assisted by the wind went into the top corner. Westwood got their 4th from a corner which was missed by everyone and ended up in the back of the net. A good team performance with the player of the match being shared by Kirsty and Marta, well done to you both. |

02.10.11 Carterton FC 2 v Chiltern Saints 1 Charlotte got her first goal of the season when a corner from Stacey was headed into the area by Marta, the Chiltern defence struggled to clear the ball which fell to Charlotte in the 6 yard box to smash it home. V got a ball smashed into the side of her face from Woody but played on to half time. Stacey won a penalty but from the spot kick she struck the post and the keeper saved the rebound. Half Time : - 1-0 Stacey redeemed herself in the second half with a well taken goal, this was followed soon after with the away side scoring their goal when a ball split the two centre backs and their forward charged onto the ball and scored. Player of the match was split between Charlotte and Stacey, the best game of the season so far from Charlotte and Stacey made the defence work hard. |

25.09.11 Hazlemere Ladies 4 v Carterton FC 4. The home side took half an hour to break down a reshuffled back four of Carterton. They doubled their lead soon after when Megan fell awkwardly and everyone was shouting to kick the ball out but the home side carried on and scored!! Perhaps we should just remember to play to the whistle, Megan was treated on the side of the pitch and took no further part in the game. Georgia got us back in the game just before half time with a well taken goal. The second half was very dramatic, Carterton pulling the game back all square at 2-2 with a great goal from Georgia. Meagan then got tackled and ended up face first into the ground, unfortunately the referee didn't acknowledge this was a head injury and played on, Kirsten then took it in her own hands (literally) to stop the game by handling the ball in the area which the referee blew up for handball and a penalty. Thankfully Meagan was ok just a little dazed but they scored from the spot. Stacey got us back on level terms only for Hazlemere to get another goal to put them 4-3 up. Kayleigh ended up colliding with Katie and coming off worse when she landed on her shoulder and another player not able to continue. Georgia got her hat-trick to level the game and Stacey had a good chance to put us in front but it hit the post. A good, physical game but a well deserved point, V was awarded the Player of the Match from the Home Side. |

18.09.11 Carterton FC 0 v Ascot United 2 All square at half time (0-0) with Ascot having the better chances but for a resilient Carterton defence keeping them at bay. Carterton came out strong in the second half and pressured the Ascot goal but no clear shots on goal. An opportunists goal put Ascot ahead then a spilled save was picked up by the forward and slotted home. With a couple of home side substitutes the shape was gone and a sloppy piece of defending conceded the second goal on 60 minutes. Carterton battled to the final whistle but unfortunately couldn't find the back of the net. Ascot awarded Kirsten Rolls as Carterton's player of the match. |

11.09.11 Buckingham Athletics 0 v Carterton FC 2.
Carterton took an early lead when a corner from
Stacey Oakey was pounced upon by Georgia Rose who got away from her
marker and headed the ball into the net. On the half hour mark Georgia
doubled the lead from a through ball from Stacey which she slotted under
the keeper. The whole team played exceptionally well today and the home
team awarded Kirsty Fitzsimons (keeper) the player of the match. Well
done and look forward to our first home game next week.
